In 2021/22, Partnerschools is adopting two schools as starters:
Partnerschools has initiated a number of starter programs to bring music and art to schools with budgets that do not allow for the arts to be part of their curriculum.
What we start in Schools
In 2020/2021 we held virtual songwriting workshops with students who work from home and students who go to school in person. Many of the children- and teachers- suffer from feeling socially disconnected, and our workshops kept these young people engaged, involved and connected to each other. We worked with the following schools:
In 2019/2020, we worked with Rucker Elementary School and Stevenson Middle School. When COVID-19 challenged choir singing, we began offering virtual content for students. In the meantime, Rucker Elementary School has hired a music teacher, and this school year, we will adopt the school again as a starter by bringing a creative writing teacher into the school. The teacher will work closely with the music teacher and help the children write their own songs. The ultimate goal is to groom the children for a partnership with another school.
