My Name is Taryn Beard, I am currently in my third year of college at San Jacinto and Lonestar Kingwood Colleges as a vocal performance major. In 2019 I graduated from The Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a vocal student. I have previously taught voice and beginner piano lessons at Guitar Center and am currently teaching privately as well. I am a Choral Scholar at HopePointe Anglican Church in The Woodlands. I am interested in continuing work with young children in the field of music and giving them the opportunity to experience how music can positively impact their lives.

What we start in Schools
In 2020/2021 we held virtual songwriting workshops with students who work from home and students who go to school in person. Many of the children- and teachers- suffer from feeling socially disconnected, and our workshops kept these young people engaged, involved and connected to each other. We worked with the following schools:

In 2019/2020, we worked with Rucker Elementary School and Stevenson Middle School. When COVID-19 challenged choir singing, we began offering virtual content for students. In the meantime, Rucker Elementary School has hired a music teacher, and this school year, we will adopt the school again as a starter by bringing a creative writing teacher into the school. The teacher will work closely with the music teacher and help the children write their own songs. The ultimate goal is to groom the children for a partnership with another school.
